We left the coast and headed north to the Tatai River where we took a river boat to a floating tent. As you do.

I had visions of little thatched huts on stilts with mosquito netting but as we arrived, the clue was in the name, Canvas & Orchids was exactly that. Tents on floating pontoons, we were going glamping.

It was amazingly tranquil with birdsong, insects chirping and the occasional splash of a fish. We immediately relaxed.
We heard about the history of the Khmer people who live in the jungle along with wild elephants, tigers and the most trafficked mammal in the world, the poor Pangolin.
It was good to see another side of Cambodia as we’ve enjoyed the coast.
From here we head towards Battambang and the ultimate destination, Siem Reap and Angkor Wat.
